Reviews and Ratings
My stay at the hotel was perfect for 5 nights. The room, though tiny, had a hip and modern vibe with crisp linens, large windows, and a small sitting area. The location was lively with plenty of dining options and easy access to various neighborhoods. The service was extremely warm and welcoming, making my stay enjoyable. The dining experience was prompt and exactly as ordered.
The hotel has a stunning view over the beautiful city and offers modern, clean rooms. However, some service issues were present during our stay. The location is superb, with amazing views of the Freedom Tower, but the dining experience could be improved. Overall, a pleasant stay with some room for enhancement.
I had a mixed experience at the hotel. While the room I stayed in, despite being a 'deluxe' booking, felt more like the cheapest option in the hotel, it was beautifully decorated and clean, offering a modern four-room suite with awesome sweeping views of lower Manhattan. The service was a bit hit or miss; while some staff members were helpful and friendly, I found the management unhelpful, especially when it came to inquiries for taxis. The location, however, was outstanding, with amazing views of the Freedom Tower and great rooftop pool, making it a perfect spot to unwind after exploring the city. The dining experience in the hotel's Jungle Room could be improved with a continental type buffet breakfast. Overall, it was a stay with some highs and lows.
The hotel was the perfect size for my girlfriend and I to set up in and stay for a week in New York with amazing attentive staff and beautiful amenities, with nice little touches that make you feel invited and want to come back. The view of downtown, waking up to the Freedom Tower glittering from the sunrise right from your bed is an experience not to be missed, although it was comfortable but very noisy.
I was thrilled with my stay at the hotel! The rooms were clean and comfy, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The location was unbeatable, with easy access to the vibrant neighborhoods of SoHo and Tribeca. However, I was a bit unsure about the decision to stay here and felt that the rooms were a bit on the small side. The dining experience was unique with Indonesian dishes available, but the facilities left something to be desired.
The hotel offers great views of the Freedom Tower from the rather small rooms, which are fine and suitable for working. The staff were more interested in chatting among themselves rather than serving on the rooftop bar, although the location is worth visiting. The hotel's location is excellent, within walking distance of key attractions like Soho, Greenwich Village, and Brooklyn Bridge, but the rooftop pool can get lively. The dining experience was okay but overpriced for what was offered.
The James hotel offers a mix of positives like beautiful and extraordinary views, very clean, comfortable, and quiet rooms, but the reality doesn't match the photos on booking. The service is a mixed bag with some staff being rude but others being very kind. The location is well-suited for exploring SoHo, Chinatown, and Tribeca, with the added benefit of a stunning rooftop bar. The dining offers good options like veggie omelettes and good coffee, but some meals can be overly expensive. Overall, a stay with highs and lows.
The hotel's rooms are quite small and a little tired, falling short of the pictures and expectations, yet my stay was saved by the exceptional service of our maid Camille. The noise from the rooftop bar and staff carting drinks late at night was a major downside.
I had an amazing stay at the hotel. The rooms were spacious and well-equipped, allowing for a comfortable and relaxing experience. The service was exceptional, with the staff being incredibly friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, making it easy to explore the city. However, there were some issues with the dining experience that could be improved.
